An advance over the design of its sibling SmartOffice PS406/PS406U, it allows full and easy access to the entire paper path; so that the user can clear paper jams or cleans the unit without calling a service center. The rollers last a long time and are easy to replace when worn out.

 

Connected with USB 2.0, it does not require any warm up time. With speed up to 80 images per minute and a duty cycle of up to 4000 sheets, this high-volume, sheet-fed scanner makes it easy to capture all your critical documents including the thick embossed ID cards and driving licenses.

The scanner comes with pre-set four custom buttons for up, down, scan and standby. For example, one can create searchable PDFs, scan to e-mail, scan to FTP, OCR, BCR, copy, or file documents by simply pressing a button.

 

Apart from this, the advanced paper handling technology offers ease of document feeding. The scanner also detects page size and deskews images automatically.

 

Among the work group scanners available today in the market, the SmartOffice PS406/PS406U with the Plustek DocAction, Plustek DI Capture, OCR and BCR software, ushers a new era in the compact ADF range. The users get image enhancement functionality as well as the option of scanning directly to Searchable PDF file, Multi Tiff File Format, print or batch scanning, etc with just a single touch.

The inbuilt TWAIN and Windows WIA drivers enable the scanner to be compatible with virtually any imaging software. On top of everything, the SmartOffice PS406U is eco-friendly as it consumes less than 0.5 watts in standby mode and while operating, power consumption is less than 24 watts. It meets the ErP and Energy Star standard certification. All of its components do not contain any mercury ingredients.

 

The SmartOffice PS406U has the efficiency of Intelligent MultiFeed Function. The ultrasonic sensor of the scanner detects the double feeding of original documents during scanning. Also, the ultrasonic function can be turned off for the purpose of intentional double-feeds such as taped receipt or sticky notes. This innovative design prevents double feeding and effectively scans documents of different weights or thickness. Thanks to double-feed prevention, optimum reliability is assured even when scanning high volumes of documents.
