But whereas other colour systems are relatively expensive when printing in black&white, this ineo+ system does it at a price you would normally expect from a monochrome machine. The output of the ineo+ 552/652 is easily comparable with that of a production machine. The ultra-fine particles of the system’s advanced polymerised toner ensure crisper, clear text and contrast-rich images. What’s more, the optional Fiery controller opens the door to professional-quality colour management, for example with ICC profile support. This is just what advertising agencies or publishing companies need. Incidentally, even if the optional Fiery controller is installed, routine business documents can still be printed on the standard ineo controller, which requires no specialist skills. The twin-controller option opens up completely new opportunities for in-house document production.
Economical to run
There are good reasons for seeing the ineo+ 552/652 as a sensible replacement for a conventional monochrome machine. It delivers black&white output just as cheaply and brings the added bonus of first-class colour output. This comprehensive portfolio of security functions has been rewarded by ISO 15408 EAL3 certification, the industry’s highest standard for multifunctional devices. The features include IPsec protocol encryption for safe network communication to and from the device; protection of all HD data against unauthorised use through a standard HDD encryption kit; and authentication via the optional finger vein scanner or non-contact ID card to restrict system access to authorised users.
Fine in finishing
The finishing options available for the ineo+ 552/652 reflect the professional quality standards this system sets in other fields such as output quality. They include A3+ booklet-making, precise folding of documents such as invoices, Z-folding and stapling of up to 100 sheets. One advantage, for example, is that presentation booklets can be produced in eye-catching quality.
